One of the most versatile colours, blue is a wardrobe essential for 2022. From featuring heavily on the Oscars circuit to leading the designer catwalk, blue is having a bit of a moment. Don’t miss out on blue: the colour of the 2022!
Emanate the Spring ‘22 catwalk in blue
Blue was a key feature from all the big players on the Spring ‘22 catwalk.
Almost all of Milan’s notable fashion houses had strong blue offerings. Armani came to the catwalk with classic navy suits, steel-blue silk, indigo shirts and midnight blue jackets.
Meanwhile in Paris, we saw Louis Vuitton showcase monochromatic blue looks throughout its collection.
Burberry’s Riccardo Tisci explained why blue has been a main component of the Spring ‘22 catwalk. He says sky blue has been “the only thing we’ve been able to watch” whilst in the (many) Covid lockdowns.
Taking blue to the red carpet
From the prestigious red carpet itself, where stars donned blue ribbons in support of the refugees of Ukraine, to the various parties, blue took the main stage at this year’s Oscar events.
A-listers hitting Vanity Fair’s blue carpet (no pun intended) donning the shade included Snake Eyes star Henry Golding. Golding gave a strong nod to blue wearing a Tom Ford floral silk jacquard cocktail jacket.
Another nod to blue came from Cole Sprouse. Sprouse came in bold with an Autumn ‘22 Paul Smith statement blue suit.
Giving blue on blue on blue was Chase Stokes. The American actor teamed a baby blue Dzojchen suit, complete with wrap shirt, with matching satin ‘Dandelion’ loafers from Louboutin.
Everyone Looks Good In Blue.
You look good in blue. Yes, you! GQ claims that the reason blue is a blokes go-to colour is because every man looks good in it. And who are we to disagree?
GQ also suggests partnering blue statement pieces with matching blue accessories. Louis Vuitton is rating blue highly in its colourway at the moment, and we love this statement outdoor backpack. A keeper.
The great thing about blue is it can be accessorised with any metal, but gold really does pop. For a slightly subtler blue infusion, team The North Face’s blue KAWS edition logo hoodie with gold jewellery.
Very Peri blue is Pantone’s colour of the year 2022
Pantone crowned Very Peri its colour of the year for 2022.
Very Peri is described as “encompassing the qualities of the blues, yet at the same time possessing a violet-red undertone,” says Pantone, it “displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression”.
Pantone influences the colour ways of designers, marketers, brands and collaborators. It is no wonder then, that blue has been scattered across this years fashion trends.
Go green by adding blue to your capsule wardrobe
If you’re looking to be more eco-conscious, a capsule wardrobe is a great place to start.
“It’s estimated that more than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK,” says Oxfam. “That amount produces nearly 50 tonnes of carbon emissions - the same as driving 162,000 miles in a car.”
Rather than spending out on swathes of fast-fashion, a capsule wardrobe encourages you to invest in a handful of key, workable pieces. It also means you can justify being a bit more spenny!
Denim is blue, right? As you slip on your favourite pair of Levis, (or even better, Lab3l’s), you’ve never had to think about what to pair them with. That’s because blue is one of the most versatile colours. Team blue with black, white, khaki or beige, easy. Or, keep up with the fash pack and go monochromatic blue on blue.
In a rich cobalt colourway, the luxury joggers are finished with metal tip drawcords, metal zip pockets and our signature Lab3l printed on the side. The matching hoodie comes with a striking logo on the back, with quotes showcasing Lab3l’s unique identity.
Go bold and wear both items together for blue monochrome goals, or team our joggers with one of Lab3l’s oversized tees for a striking contrast.
Even better, we’ve designed Lab3l to be unisex, which means your other half will look just as good in our threads when they steal them from your (capsule) wardrobe.
